Sam, I see the woman's prayer as an expression of NOT. She prayed for what she did not have, when she would have been better off focusing on what she did have, a good family, and what she was, a good person and mother. Give thanks (to themselves or God) in other words, instead of express lack. If only people could focus more upon the worth and goodness that is already in them, instead of external measures like money, or approval from others. To me, to focus on personal lack is to create our own demons that will haunt us to the day we die. A perceived blessing becomes like an angel, bringing good and light into whatever we do, and giving us power. Regardless of someone's belief in God, I see these two perspectives within any belief as being the key to happiness or desolation. I guess that may do a better job of explaining my view of not believing (putting belief in) sin, error, or a perceived lack of light. Because if we do, we give them life, they self perpetuate, and become all that we see. A half empty glass remains forever in a state of emptiness. Peace, Darrin
