mb, I respectfully disagree with you about them being "more right than the bulls." The bulls mostly have been in the internet stocks, and the NASDAQ 100 where they haven't been scorched, and are literally printing money.

Fleck and Hick were bearish at the BOTTOM mb, No way around it. They should have said WE WILL BOUNCE HERE, then go down for the count. They did not. Go look at the article. yes, they have been bearish for awhile (Fleck has had at least THREE of these Barron's things), but they were still SUPER BEARISH on the WORLD of tech. At the time of the article, Fleck didn't realize we were ALREADY scraping the bottom of a real semi depression (take a look at the long term chart of ARW), not about to GET one. The semi caps DON'T LOSE money forever. Why be a bear on them when they ARE LOSING MONEY as Fleck says he was on AMAT. The stocks of the cap companies and INTC didn't get to these extreme valuations like 1 x sales because of low interest rates, ag, and the public's mania for stocks.

Mike, did you see this article on the semi caps ?
biz.yahoo.com

The Needham guy thinks almost all will lose money in 1999. Makes you wonder why they are up about 75% in the 4th quarter of 1998. NVLS seems especially ridiculous. Still see the market rolling over around 12/7 ?
