Where did you hear that? That would be highly unusual for the split to occur effective at the same date of the announcement. I guess that would mean 153/3 but I'd need to get a confirmation. Amazon has been strange in the past about their announcements and dealing with the facts.

Jan, There is no way teh effective day is tomorrow. Likely a month or two off. So a pop(?) in the morning. This really is an amazing dole out of news. Anyway, this could be the death if it ever gets down to single digits, ala IOM. Twofer would have been more prudent. Then split again in a few months if called for.

This is really a very strange way of announcing splits. If this is not stock hyping or manipulation, then tell me what is. I can not remember any company announcing a split effective the same day. As I said before, whoever it is, just stop the hype and bullshit, show some net earning first.
