Bill OFF SUBJECT RE: <Linux is not yet ready for prime time.> Yep - you are right in a restricted sense. I work in a shop with 80+ unix programmers who are working on NT boxes to access the X-UNIX systems on which their programs run. The NT boxes(read PC clones) cost 1/3 the $ of the HP/UX boxes they replaced, & the ancillary programs are also 1/3 the cost of UNIX equivalents. In our shop most of the guys would rather pen a note for email in vi & use mail than use explorer or netscape or ccmail!

The System Administrators are mostly UNIX people. How much should it take this group to change operating systems?

PS, I'm composing on an AMD K6-200 in windows. No guts yet.
