Yes, I have noticed and just don't understand.
What do you mean by "sophisticated player(s)"? Would this be persons who plan on taking control of the company by owning a major portion of shares ?
Why would "sophisticated player(s)" buy into a company whose apparent financial condition is highly questionable, unless they had the substance & intentions of control ?
Wouldn't it be easier to buy up all the outstanding notes & then just takeover ?

Trying to understand.
