I have never sold short nor used my on-line trading option in my life, but, I confess, I did try to do both and sell some ANCR today. My thought was that there may be some profit taking on Friday and that I could replace them for a small profit and the experience of it all. I put in a short sale order @3 5/8 and got this response by way of e-mail:

"We have rejected your order to sell short 1,000 Ancor Communication. We are unable to borrow the stock at this time and therefore cannot short sell it for you.

Sincerely, XXXX "

So, now, I still have not sold short nor used an internet account, but, much more important, what the hell do they mean by "We are unable to borrow the stock at this time"? Any ideas??
