Yes, but not in the same sense as Jesus was. Jesus came down from the Father. He was from heaven, we are from the earth.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in(trust in, rely on, cling to) him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 KJV)

"But I do nothing without consulting the Father. I judge as I am told. And my judgment is absolutely just, because it is according to the will of God who sent me; it is not merely my own." (John 5:30 NLT)

"I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life." (John 5:24 NLT)

God bless,

David

Hi Darrin (from Nancy),
Jesus is respected by almost all religions as a great prophet partly because He was the first to teach of God as a father image that we can relate to. He is no longer considered an impersonal God thing but a loving father that cares for us and knows us. We are His children through Jesus. The flip side to this IMO is that we are to be like children to enter the kingdom of heaven. That is a day full of meditation on what God means for us to be like children. Is it to trust our father without fear? Or to run to Him when we get hurt? Can we sit in His lap and listen carefully to His wisdom (the Bible) in our troubles? What a gift Jesus has given us and IMO it is much more than eternal life it is a personal relationship with a warm loving father God.
Some will say we are Gods also if we are sons of God but I say what are they saying by this. If they are a God does that mean they do not need to sit in His lap for council but rely on their own wisdom? Do they take their problems in their own strength without the comfort of running to him for comfort? I do not have any desire to be a God only to be a child that is humble and teachable by my father that I love.
I enjoy your post and see your a wise person that is seeking to know God more.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, may He make His face shine upon you and give you Peace. The peace that the world can not understand but comes from God alone,
Nancy
