If DoCoMo comes out and takes back their support of W-CDMA in favor of a converged standard, or, in a more Shangri-La move, supports CDMA2000, look out! One of the two poles holding up the VW-40 tent will have been yanked out. Then fortress Europe's walls will crumble. Will it then be a case of "Eurotrash see, Eurotrash do?" What option will ERICY have then? Do they go it alone vs. the US, Korea, and Japan? Perhaps, but that would not be a wise move.

Mqurice, OT Vincennes shootdown,

As you may know, the area was hot at the time. As stated a "war zone". The aircraft was flying directly at the ship, at subsonic speed, in a known civilian air traffic corridor, and the IFF system was probably indicating a civilian airliner. As the captain, do you gamble on a possible deception and put your ship and crew at risk? Or do you take out the threat?
