If there were truly an offer on the table to buyout ANCR at $12.50 a share, and WE were already hearing about it, don't you think that the stock would be a lot higher than 3 1/2? Also, when was the last time you saw a company bought out at a 250% premium to its current stock price? I guess I'm a little dubious about such a high price being paid for Ancor right now, whether or not we all think they (and we!) deserve it. the freep

Hi Craig,

According to my (sometimes faulty) recollection, the Adaptec takeout was somewhere in the neighborhood of $6.00 if we can believe BS. If we can believe AR, we're looking at a $12.00 price.

Qlogic was very disappointed when their Symbios deal was nixed by the DoJ and they were snatched by LSI instead. QLGC has been up around $120.00 so would fit into AR's scenario. Not sure how to factor in their recent 2-1 split announcement though. But ANCR and QLGC seem to make a nice fit. They've dropped $5.00 today so far, which may presage some acquisition announcement forthcoming. Somebody knows something. In any case, I imagine any offer from anybody would NOT be hostile and would be going through the board this time.

My .02,

Douglas
