Why are you sick of hype/rumors? This should be good for CIEN shareholders unless you're shorting it? I just don't see your point :)

TLAB is still interested for several reasons,
with the biggest deterrent being how to convince the shareholders.
That is why the price should be below the 4b. breakdown point.
Tellabs shareholders are firmly committed to Birck so if he can feel good about it and CIEN approves the deal will go, first quarter.

Most reasons are obvious, but CIEN must not go CSCO way.
That is the wild card for a takeover play and even higher prices.
I missed the obvious at 8, but have been enlightened and waiting for entry. Got a chance at 12 and again at 16, we shall see if it ever gets better.

First, the action in CIEN was not option related. "Option related" usually means that the MM will attempt to close out a stock at a strike price. Last I looked, CIEN closed just about mid-point between two strike prices. The action in CIEN didn't look at all related to options.

Second, CIEN is a good take-over target simply because of its relatively low acquisition price. CIEN can be had for a price between $28-30/share. That makes it attactive to several suitors. Whether it happens or not, that is a fact. When it happens. Nobody knows.

I don't have a position in CIEN now. I didn't during option expiration either. However, your post smacks of sour grapes. Were you recently short?
