Chat CD, NSCP, AMP, UMG: - CD- made strong move today to near 15, trading at 16 1/4 briefly. Cd (Cendant) announced sale of software division, and indicated that it will be selling more assets in near future. additionally, will be re-entering the bond market next week, first time it has been able to sell bonds since the CUC scandal put the kabash on it. THe chart on CD shows a long down trend that has been broken by this move up. I think CD will come back into institutional favor soon, and we will see a move up to 17-18 shortly and 25-30 next year. NSCP - 39 3/8 or so. huger move this week. the original internet company had been "discovered" by the internuts. NSCP lookls like support at 35 area and should head up towards 45-60. Rumors of AOL interest in joint venture, imbedding NSCP browser in AOL, or possible takeover are swirling. I think that it is likely that AOL will acquire NSCP in near future. THe internet battleground is being shaped, and AOL and MSFT will become more adversaries than co-operators as MSFT tries to develope its portal and MSN, and using IE to drive eyeballs to its sites. AOL can use NSCP to counter this and develope its own branding. UMG - 39 7/8 - MediaOne, large cable company and 25% owner of TWX's entertainment division, which includes cable companies and Roadrunner. Stock has been under pressure from some large selling blocks. This pressure seems to be dissipating. Stock should move back to mid 40s, then take run at 50. AMP - 45 - lots of legal stuff. ALD gets permission to start its solicitation agreement, but court wouldn't allow its directors to be seated if elected. duh. AMP has self-tender for 15% of stock at $55. I think company will be put up for sale soon, and will go out at $55-60. I tendered some of my shares for the $55, and bought more to play. Do your own DD. larrry
