How come nobody is mentioning electric cars? Fuel cells? The technology seems to be developing fast, and I hope that the next car I buy will be an electric one.

Alex, as far a nuke energy is concerned we need to dump Carters old policies and build some breeder reactors. I live 20 miles from a nuke plant that the cost of building it jumped from 400 million to 4 billion because of the government and the unions. Damn thing still doesn't work after 20 years.

I am not really for world peace. Number one there are too many people on the motorways to begin with...war helps that problem...secondly, war is fun to watch on TV and god knows we need some more exciting stuff there...world peace...an idea whose time has not come.

Diesels stink for sure...Mexico City is so bad, I can't stay there. You are right there. Diesel is cheaper when you consider the national diesel fuel rebate available to auto drivers.

I, unlike you, almost always drive 35KPH over the speed limit. so give my your spouse's tel number and we will go for a nice drive.

The Dept of energy concluded with me that my gas guzzlers at the pump idea would eliminate oil imports and probably balance the balance of payments. They and I understand that unless a President [who does not have to be re-elected comes out with the idea] and gives the country 5 year prior to implementation, that it is politically a useless idea regardless of how smart an idea it is.

This looks like an idea that cannot go anywhere unless someone, a president-preferable to be a Republican pres-although it is very, very doubtful that we will ever see another Republican president, gets behind it.
