MB re Y2K. Logical as your point is, many of the auditor types want the hardware to be "certified" as being compliant as well and the hardware companies know it. I was told to buy a bunch of new hardware for that reason ( a bunch of DELLs) and wouldn't you know it, they all had crapola inside about being Y2K compliant. I said we don't need the hardware and the management said "go ahead anyway, it's coming out of the Y2K budget!"

Before the Intel(igensia ?) pipe up,I know about BIOS and that's not the reason they want the boxes replaced!

Another point I'd like to make is; a lot of machines will get replaced next year for the Y2K reason and not for an increase in throughput. So how are the hardware companies going to displace those boxes after 2000?

It finally came to me. The investment idea of the century.

I'm going to start a restaurant chain::

The Amazon Steak House

Menu:

1. Sizzle uncut $153.25
2. Sizzle cut into three pieces $180.63

Judging by after hours sampling, there will be a further increase to item 2 on the menu.
