(This post follows JimB's but is not directed at JimB) >>messengers that brought info to this thread and through newsletters unknowing that it was false?? (now those who knew they were sharing bad info are responsible.. that's different.. those that helped the company to scam people should be dealt with)...<< This describes 2 kinds of posters supporting the stock: 1. those presenting info they thought to be true but turned out to be false, and 2. Those who knew they were sharing bad info Let me suggest that there were three kinds. In addition to the above two, what about those who didn't know the information was false, but who indulged in great ego-gratification and called CEOs of companies to get info in exchange for guarantees of finding buyers. It's not the same as #2 (sharing bad info), but it can easily be described as exploitation. I call a CEO and I say, "Look, I know a lot of people; I'm so important you wouldn't believe it. They call me a goddess over on S.I. You let me know what I need to know today (Thursday morning), and I'll get you buyers in on Friday like you can't believe." So the CEO likes having this important god-like character "with" him and he tells him a little secret or two. The character buys a bunch of the stock. Then Friday morning he calls this list of people he has suckered into thinking they are part of his "inner circle" (never telling them how big the circle is) and says, "Sell your Microsoft and put it all into XXX. Trust me." The victim buys Friday morning, but because everyone already knows the leak of big news coming (the little secret or two) the price has gapped up a bit. Take it from there. More than one scenario to imagine. The hypester doesn't really know the company is a scam. He may not even suspect it. But he is exploiting people, using them, undermining them... These guys are not as bad as those who perpetrated the scam, and I don't want them to serve long jail terms. I just want them recognized for what they are so that it doesn't happen again. Especially if they had a LOT of power over people. Enough to be referred to as gods. Raven
