Steve and Iomega Thread,

The SanDisk Thread sees Clik! as a threat to solid state memory. Currently SmartMedia and Compact Flash (type I and II) will likely continue for the foreseeable future with the lion's share of the digital camera market. Although the Sony Mavica sold well the past few quarters most digital camera fanatics will be looking for high resolution images (not 640x480) and convenient removable storage. Sony has several options to chose from in upgrading from a floppy disc, including the "Memory Stick".

I think Iomega has had sufficient opportunity to get some of the well-known camera manufacturers to get an eye full of the Clik! No design-ins will be available for this Christmas season. Also, CompactFlash is gaining in capacity and falling in price. It also offers distinct advantages in mobile computing where battery consumption needs to be kept at a minimum.

I don't think competing in the digital camera market or the PDA/palmtop/telecom/GPS/mp3 player markets will be a lay-up for Iomega...more like a three point shot.
