GUE, exactly what I have been railing about! Thanks for the link. Gretchen Morgenson has written similar accounts in the NY Times business section. The big mystery to me is not why companies engage in this subterfuge -- that should be obvious, but why investors are either in denial over the facts, or simply don't care.
