shoot1st, I'm not sure what you meant in your post about watching many thousands of shares go by. Did you mean you were at the inside and weren't getting filled? On ARCA? Only there?

How much size was behind you on the bid or offer for the stock where you were the top bid or offer? How much volume did the stock trade for the day? This will not happen when there is thin size behind your top bid or offer. The reason being that if a quick fractional scalp does not take place in the immediate future, then the "big" size can be hit for a scratch.
