In the future print out all your on line transactions as you enter them and any record of them after they happen. Once you straighten out your current problem with ETrade, withdraw all your funds and find a better on line broker. I like Datek best but Discover Brokerage is OK, much better than ETrade. ETrade was my first on line brokerage, but they are horrible. It's impossible to connect during busy times (especially when the market is plunging or shooting up) and their record keeping sucks. They will mess around with transactions as you have experienced. Why put up with this?
