A BETTER WAY TO SHOP
CYBERMALLS?

HAS SOMEONE BUILT A BETTER BOT--those tiny software programs that
travel the Web to find the best prices? Sunnyvale (Calif.) startup mySimon
Inc. thinks it has. Its Web site (www.mysimon.com) debuted on Oct. 26, and it
is providing technology to Big Yellow and other shopping-geared Web
services.

What's different about mySimon's bot? The company uses real, live shoppers
to train its software. mySimon has a squad of employees who explore
shopping sites and feed information about them back to the company's Virtual
Learning Agent shopping engine. Later, when consumers use the technology,
mySimon's bots know where to go for the information they need and how to
get it quickly.

With many shopping sites mapped out, the company can provide
up-to-the-minute prices. Other bots, such as the one offered by Junglee
Corp., don't search the Internet in real time. They keep prices in a database
that may be from a previous day. mySimon has already scouted out 800
online merchants, and it's adding about 50 more per week.

This was posted on the CMGI thread, but it also mentions AMZN and a number of obscure inets. The interview is so bullish that it even unnerves me.

"Market Monitor"-James Dines Of "The Dines Letter" PAUL KANGAS: My guest
Market Monitor this week is James Dines the Editorand Publisher of "The Dines
Letter." One of the Nation's oldest and mostwidely followed investment newsletters.
Welcome back Jim.JAMES DINES, EDITOR & PUBLISHER OF THE DINES
LETTER: My pleasure.KANGAS: In your latest letter dated November 13th you gave
yourselfcredit and correctly so for having predicted that the summer sell off instocks
would be followed by a sizzling rally. Which would be spearheadedby the internet
stocks and that is what happened. But in that letter youwere still puzzling as to whether
we are still in a bear market rally orin the beginning of a new bull market. Have you
solved the puzzle?DINES: Well, we are still working on our 1999 annual forecast issue.
Andthat's still up for grabs. But right now we are still very bullish. AndI think that we are
going to be bullish into early next year. But themiddle of next year, I'm expecting a
resurgence of the currency crisisI've been warning about in your show.KANGAS: How
high can we go on the Dow in the meantime?DINES: I wouldn't be surprised to see us
go over 10-thousand.KANGAS: But not necessarily this year but sometime in the first
part ofnext year.DINES: Right. KANGAS: Your last visit with us the Dow was at
8712. That was back onJune 19th. And you had earlier recommended America On
Line to ourviewers and Amazon.com these stocks have just gone through the roof.Even
in January of this year when Amazon was at 28, it's now what 180 orso. And America
On Line23 it's now in the 80's . Are you taking some money off the tablefinally?DINES:
No. My subscribers are making major killings on these stocks. Theinternet is the biggest
thing I've ever seen in my entire investingcareer. KANGAS: Alright you gave us these
stocks on your last visit too. Eightof them actually new internets likeCMG Information,
Cybercash, Onsale, US Web, etc. Five of them areactually down but three of them are
up so much that the downers aren'tbad at all. So what do we do with those?DINES:
Buy more. The internet is where it's at. If you want to makemoney in the stock market.
Listen don't listen to anybody else. They'recalling it a mainy in a bubble . They said the
same thing aboutMicrosoft ten years ago. You listen to me. I'm tellling you thisinternet
group is where the money is going to be made in the next fewyears. KANGAS: New
editions to your buy list in the internet group. DINES: The first one I would
re-recommend is CMG Information Systemsthat's (NASDAQ:CMGI). This is a mutual
fund of internet stocks it's goodfor beginners. Preview Travel (NASDAQ:PTVL) as my
leading travelinternet stock. Many Consult.com (BB:MCNS) is my favorite low
pricedinternet. In the last four weeks it's up 1209 percent from $.43 to 5 1/2. And in
telecoms my blue chip favoriteis MCI Worldcom, that's (NASDAQ:WCOM).My best
low price recommendation is Intisys (NASDAQ:INTF). They bothhave been scorching
up trends and growing very rapidly.....(omit)...KANGAS: But all that action, the big
action on the upside is theinternet.DINES: The internet hedged, internet telecoms
hedged by gold. That's ourrecommended portfolio. And that's stratight from the originial
internet bug.KANGAS: Just like you were the original gold bug. I got it. Thanks
Jim.DINES: My pleasure.
