SHORT INTEREST NOT ACCURATE.

The short interest in MALL was 160,080 as of Oct. 15th 1998. During the mid-October timeframe, MALL was trading at $7 to $9 per share.
Why would anyone want to short MALL at that price? Given the volume and huge runup we've had recently, the short interest figure is more along the lines of 2 to 3 million shares short. My method for calculating short interest uses high-level nasdaq quotes and technical analysis and its been accuate to 80% for me thus far. 2 to 3 million shares short is quite a large number since there are only 4 million shares of MALL float.
