michelle<use of AI in marketing, by internet retailers> Would you be willing to state which internet companies are doing the best jobs of constantly improving the interfaces with clients and even prospects. I am just beginning to explore some anxieties i have, in this area. I don't know, for example, why i seem to be so obsessed with the idea that a company in the Seattle area, is going to be able to attract say AI "type" of specialists, and keep them interested in "product development"(as in Dell's interface), when this would normally be an extremely boring thing for such a person. My strong bias is that teams there, with the added access to intc and msft friendships (i.e. people do talk to each other) are going to have quite an advantage. Having worked myself in so called think tanks, my personal experience is that real talent moves very quickly where the exciting people are. In my opinion (which is rarely humble) after msft gets through redefining antitrust laws, they are going to be even more interested in partnering with companies like Dell, in extreme tight security environments. And as you may have noticed me going on and on about here, it is my strong bias that Dell should establish what we could call a think tank up there, well in advance of the need, and strongly consider partnering with msft and intc up there. Many times, actually being there makes the whole difference, which i somehow suspect you might agree with---just based on reading the tone of your exchanges. If this doesn't interest you at all, that's o.k.. I'll bring it up later in some other context. Again, as you may have noticed, my bias probably comes from having worked for Arthur D. Little in the Boston area, and Stanford Research Institute in Menlo Park. Or can you refer me to someone else here. Thanks again.
