Yet Miller and other Apple dealers say products such as high-end Macs and PowerBooks are still often in short supply.

Actually, in the current context this is, at least to me, more comforting that if Apple was fully meeting demand provided the shortages are minor.

It shows that months after introduction Apple systems are moving. Shortages are only to be expected after years of cutting capacity...

Just as long as Steve doesn't let them get out of hand.
