Thanks for the responses everyone.

I am going to experiment with ASCII files. However I think the price savings are not going to be worth the hassle.

I just looked at the prophetdirect site and it looks very interesting. Possible the best deal so far. It looks like you can use the MSWIN downloader and do not have to worry about formating.

According to the site they offer equities (All History) for $21.95/month and Equities (Six Months) for $12.95/month

My question.. what if I want to have history on all stocks in the U.S and Canada and then want to update the stocks everyday? I got a data CD with history on U.S and Canadian stocks with Metastock 6.5.

Best Regards
KEITH

Paul,

How have you organized your historical data for Metastock? I recently started using QP2, but am not yet satisfied with my data management system. My main problem is loss of line studies on smart charts when I make any changes in a virtual directory, which for me is a significant limitation for virtual files. I have tried to come up with a way to create an alphabetically organized real MS directory, but can't seem to get around the 256 symbol/directory limit in QP2 created directories. Neither have I been able to get the QP historical data into my old MS files, although I can update them with new data.

In regards to End of the Day Canadian Data.... I recent E-mail I sent and recieved

<< I have recently purchased Metastock 6.5 and am looking for a data provider for U.S and Canadian stocks and indexes. I would like to maintain a data base which includes the 5 year history of all stocks and indexes and then update this data base daily.

1. With your service is the downloading and error correction of data and the maintanance of the data base an automated process like Reuters (at a far higher cost)?

2. I currently have a C.D with the history of all U.S and Canadian stocks and indexes for the past 8 years starting in August 98. Could I use you 6 month history service to maintain and update this data base?

3. Does the equities data include indexes. If not, how much would the equities and indexes data cost?

4. Does the options feature include Canadian options?

Thank you for your response in advance

Sincerly
KEITH MASSEY
