I'm sure Friedman is intellectually honest, and I'm sure he's sincerely against antitrust enforcement vis-a-vis Microsoft. And I don't mean to disparage his intellectual achievements. But he's probably against almost any other antitrust enforcement you could come up with, too. It's political philosophy as much as science at work there. Political philosophy is fine and all, and Friedman and Hayek and Rand may have the most consistent brand going, but personally, I think money has plenty enough power the way it is.

I'm still puzzled how the market is ever going to give us an O.S. that sucks less in this context. I admire you going off and reading Hayek, but I don't have the grounding to do that critically.
