All... Just heard a CompUSA radio add here in Houston, it was bragging about the FAT32 file system that W98 uses and that it would give you 28% more disks space. At the end of the commercial it stated that if you act now you can get W98 and a 100mb ZIP drive a for I believe it was $119.00.

j glad,

I believe you posted the info about Costco and CC before. I know Costco as a big box discounter by reputation, not here in Chicago, like all retailers of their ilk they will buy a product if demand and margins make it attractive. As for Circuit City they are pretty weak when it comes to tech, not very important in my opinion.

But, your argument is weak because you are talking about old product and old dynamics. New products, new price points and no serious competition, other than competitor's marketing flim-flam, spell good news and a better bottom line for IOM.

As a former retailer I can tell you that if there is a hot product in your market segment...you want it for your business. All aboard!

"Please check your local CompUSA, Costco, Circuit City, and Best Buy and compare Zip sales today from a month ago, a year ago, and two years ago. I think you will be unpleasantly surprised."

I wouldn't be surprised if their sales of external drives were declining, however their sales of disks should be increasing. Disk sales are the "bread and butter" for Iomega
