Vman, thanks for the update. I dont think you went out on a limb with the <Loral to be a different beast 6 months in the future> The beast sure is different from 6 months past! =:-0 [wrt stock price]

More to the point, are you saying it will be different from management's currently laid out plans? If the assets coming on line are the driver for the changing of the beast - super. That is what I am planning on. If the buyout/acquisitions results in a different beast, I'm not so sure I'll like that as much.

Iriduim sure has enjoyed the street's favor. Reports I have read on I* so far are not good. IMO this will negatively impact G* for two reasons. First, I* is using up all the market's good will. By the time G* gets up and running (<1 yr would be nice) I dont think the street will have the same patience for teething problems that it seems to be giving I*. Second, I dont know if G* ads can overcome the bad taste that I* is given, from the high cost, to the less than stellar service and the poor availability. I dont know how many companies will look at I* and see it is not for them and then not give G* a look.

Perhaps the marketing types can over come that, I dont know.

I dont like the idea that the handset/gateway electronics and software cant be finalized until late in flow, after significant testing of a major portion of the constellation on orbit. What ever happened to the 'bent pipe' idea of having the smarts on the ground. Seems that they should be able to finalize that stuff and have all the support hardware ready to go and swamp the market as soon as enough sats are up and supporting.

The last thing we need to to have potential customers turned away due to lack of availability or coverage.

How many Happy Campers bought at 8?

Not me :-(
