Not sure about puts. I just looked in Cisco's annual report in order to figure out how they accounted for options and that's how I figured out that EPS is diluted from it. To be honest with you it's been several years since I have done hard core SEC reporting and now I am in the IT realm, so those days are becoming a fuzzy memory for me. But the good thing is that I can still read a financial statement. Hehe.

Sorry if I sounded defensive. I think you and I are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. You definitely have logical arguments for your position. I have found nothing technically wrong with your arguments. But I still think stock options are a good thing since I am now a holder of a few and love the idea of me becoming wealthy if my company performs well. As a result, I work extra hard. Becoming a millionaire is a worthy goal and a hell of an incentive. Good luck to you!
