Nope, just talked to Fidelity: the trader said we definitely do not get any notice before an option is exercised, its just exercised. They might leave a voice mail after it happened so you'd know right away but then again on a very busy day might not do that either. I might not know until the next day or even three days later when I got notice in the mail.

If they get called prior to exp. (which is also rare) yes you get notified.
