Amazon and some other Internet darlings have captured the imaginations of the public. At some point that thinking will shift from "being where the action is at" to "Gee, do we really want to create a new Microsoft & Bill Gates?" Large Internet etailers not only represent great opportunity for growth but also a great change away from small shop owners. This big brother centralization isn't all goo. Sure is delivers goods conveniently by clicking on some buttons, but on the other hand it causes a few corporations more control of what we think and how we buy. Do we really want this? Many of us do but the "new thing" character of Amazon will eventually be seen as an "it".
