I like the way Merrill Lynch evaluate SUNW (you can
get their report thru free trial from askmerrill.com).

They recommend SUNW all the way and said that JAVA is
a call option on SUNW. Obviously, this call option's
premium get appreciated aggressively very similarly to
internet stocks. Pricing in java's value into SUNW's
stock value, it's a tough call to say when this uptrend
will end. Thanks to java or blame java depending on
whether the long or short side that you stand.

My bad, I should have seen that. I am in the same boat, I had both INTC and CSCO in early 1994, csco just after it tanked at 22/sh. I plan on holding sunw for quite a while, although my liking to selling covered calls on it has me behind the 8-ball right bow. I had to roll my nov 55's into apr 60's, I am hoping for some sort of a pullback to get out from under those.

Like you, I owned the stocks that you mentioned at one time or another. I would have been better off if I had not taken short-term profits.

I have owned Sun off and on for more years than I can recall. Initially, I traded it but over the past three or four years, I kept my shares even though I had worried about Sun's future.

Unless, Sun's future dims, I plan to keep my shares.

And I trade very little now.
