Given the current overcapacities in semi-conductor, I do not think that any company would be seriously interested in acquiring IDTI. One way to make IDTI stock to move up is for the Board to fire Perham, who has consistently shown that he is not up to the task.

One thing really puzzles me is why IDTI's management would try to buy QUAL when its own currency is so weak.

One (slightly) positive news is that PC Club (one of the very large chain-store here in Southern California) is selling a lot of PCs using Winchip. According to my friend, who is an accountant at one of the store, the primary reason that the Winchip sale at PC club went up is because it is cheaper than Cyrix chips. For whatever reasons (perhaps due to termination of production agreement between Cyrix/NSM with IBM or due to transition problem at NSM), there are not many really cheap Cyrix CPU's around. However, given that CPU speed of Winchip is so low (<240 MHz), I do not know how much money IDTI is making on each chips.
