For what it is WORTH,:IDT got some press in the latest issue, pg 72, of the magazine. Nothing new or noteworthy. IDC Research of Farmingham,MA pointed out that the sub $1K PC is hot and that the WINCHIP is targeted at that market. No mention of the dearth of CPU speed. Mr. Murphy (Cal. Tech Newsletter or some related name) also go a little quote in touting IDT.

CY has stated that they are trying to raise capital and are looking for things to buy. I do not think IDT would be on their list of potential targets. If I recall, CY was looking to raise about $200M. My guess is that they may try to go after some smaller fabless firm that may have some attractive IP.

IMHO, maybe this news kind of validifies IDT's plan to broaden its product offerings, beyond SRAM. CY has pretty much "stayed the course" as primarily an SRAM co.
