Iraq: People are not dying because of the sanctions, people die each day because of Saddam Hussein's terror regime. The responsibility rests with Iraq's leadership, not with the US and UN.
Saddam has been smuggling a lot of oil via Iran and Turkey for a long time, this way he can do what ever he wants with the money. And what does he buy, food and medicine for the starving children? No, he's building even more luxury palaces, and he's buying military equipment.

He loves showing western journalists how poor and sick children are dying in the hospitals, "look what the sanctions are doing to my people". But who's the real culprit? Saddam has the choice in his own hand, food or weapon? Medicine or new palaces? It's obviously a very easy choice for Saddam and his mad dogs.
