My question is what happened to the rest of my 10 minute conversation with the reporter? chicagotribune.com Everyone was watching the Dow today which acted heavy, but what do you think of that wild move in the Transportation Average. Scamshift has been very effective. He has managed to gain more credibility than he deserves at this early hour; and he has successfully confused the issues, as well. Dan, just wanted to mention a couple of quick things in defense of MBT... One We, you and me, don't know if spamshift is telling the truth or not. At this point its guilty until proven innocent. Two Even if we assume the absolute worst, that scamshift is correct in his assumptions re: ARCA ... if we for the sake of argument go with that view... the fact remains that ARCA can at times be incredibly useful. In other words, I use ISLD for darn near all my trades - I try to stick to trading hot frothy names with plenty of ISLD liquidity - nevertheless on occasion ARCA gives me the best route in or out. You will not have that route. You will have one less option when you work your orders. Since the SOES rules were re-written you are now left with ISLD or Selectnet. How are you going to cross with the exploding number of ECN's ?? ARCA will cross you with BTRD REDI INCA and other new ECN's. Three Shifty has fairly well disparaged MBT. Too bad, they are great guys, and I think they are much better than they are getting credit for. In addition to the loss of an important - if now "controversial" order route, by crossing MBT off your list you will also lose what I believe is the strongest back office support available to traders. Four Although Len claims support is sufficient at JPR; this business plan makes me wary. Are you an independent trader who doesn't need the support of your broker anymore? Would like to pay significantly lower commisions and make money from running your own business? If you are an active trader or know a small group of active traders, you are probably ready to open your own branch office. JPR Capital has succesfully opened three branch offices and can provide you with a detailed plan of what you need. We can have you up and trading in six to eight weeks! Maybe thats ok, but I have my doubts. Five Why is scanshit targeting MBT and the MBT thread with all this attention? He is trying to do the most damage he can. MBT is getting hammered on because they are the best thing that ever came out of tal and southwest. MBT is awesome. MBT is doing great business and is adding and satisfying and keeping customers at a wicked pace. This is all being set aside due to one person's revenge? Nice. Six MBT will let any trader take two months to trade for $5 commissions. No its not the same as having permanently low charges, but its a start, and it provides a "more than fair" opportunity for someone to learn how to use the software and work their trades. Seven MBT is making software available to assist traders with the book keeping chores we all face. Eight MBT has been and I predict will continue to be on the bleeding edge. They offer the best support and the most order routes because they are working the hardest. The mirc chatroom has been a true standout in customer service and convenience. Nine The folks at MBT, if you take the time to talk to them, are about the dead opposite of what shifty would have you believe. MBT is making friends and a few enemies along the way because they are growing like crazy and they are keeping happy, damn near every client they get.
