I agree that someone from Congress will have little chance of winning the presidency. But who knows whether they can weasel their way to the nomination? Look at Dole. Bush Jr. would be the strongest possible candidate the GOP could field. They just have to ignore or amputate the Johannes Pilch wing of the party. And given the current laxity of the country, the right kind of scandal (sex/booze vs. money) could help him, giving him media attention and a human face. What do you mean by foul-plagued? Is there dirt on him? I just want him to president so Bulls Coach Phil Jackson can get a cabinet post, maybe Secretary of Entertainment. :-)
