Chief - On halts - I often get called when I have an order in and the stock gets halted. LIKE I WAS NOT AWARE A STOCK I am in the market on is halted.

Anyway - they have always told me that they have been directed by the trading desk to cancel the order. I am unsure if this is a securtities regulation or just Scotia regulation.

Now I know you cannot put in new orders during a halt ( sometimes).

CAUTION: check the rules of you brokerage house becuase you may think you have an order in upon resumption of trading and actually do not.
