I know this isn't a great argument, but the couple times I've seen Pointcast it's been clear to me that it's nothing I'd ever choose to have on my computer.

I agree. Nevertheless the stat is still horrible. Pointcast needs a permanent connection, which currently are mostly restricted to corporations. The PointCast stat then suggest a rough estimate of 1.5% share of the corporate market for Appple.

I have a friend at work and he uses this product on one of his machines. It gives him the weather and some news updates. I think Mark is right, who needs this anyway? If there was 50 million PC users and 10 million Mac users, there might be 100,000 PC users and 20,000 Mac users (or less because it's worthless) using this product.

So, Pointcasts point is that because there aren't many people using this product anyway, we can't support two platforms, so let's stick with the largest, so are development costs are lower, but we still we be going out of business or be bought by someone else within the year.

Mark,

I haven't been impressed either. And, will QT 4.0 have or begin to approach these same capabilities? Just curious.
