Using that reasoning I would be able to go out and kill fanatics (whom I believe are responsible for much murder and mayhem in the world). What a lovely place the world would be if we could take the law into our own hands- and be sure no one else would do the same.

If one takes the view that only God gives life and only God can take it away, then the killing of doctors is also tantamount to going against the will of God.

True believers of religion and true conservatives hold such views, and even if I disagree with them, I admire (and respect) them for their consistency.
