hey Leeza,

I want to resond to your AMD questions, it's KILLING me :o)

I know these points were made at the conference call in the Q & A:

- 1144 Multiphase product designed in conjunction with Dell is HUGE
- 5 new systems by 3 OEM customers will use 1144; revenue due Q1 FY00
- 1144 is "reference design" for use in systems based on AMD K7 design

In other words, the 1144 is THE chip for ALL K7 equipped computers that are based on "the reference design". You know, as well as I, that in early production there is VERY little deviation from the "reference design", since doing so would negate any assurances of proper product performance.

What you also did hear was that there is no LESS than 5 new systems being designed by three major OEM customers using this product (ummm ... no names were given at the conference call, but can you say CPQ, DELL, and IBM)? I want to be clear I am speculating, but c'mon who else can it possibly be :o)

Last but not least, SMTC now has a very good LOCK on computers based on both PII and K7 designs. This is becoming a slaughter, and is PURE TESTAMENT to the wisdom in hiring the BEST OF THE BEST engineers money can buy. Oh ... and if money can't buy them, do the other SMART thing SMTC did (and the wise shareholders supported), offer them nice stock incentive packages.

This company has just FIRMLY SECURED it's place in the industry as THE LEADER ... the fun is still to come :o)

Leeza, whats up with that iMac buddy? I don't know if it has SMTC product inside; does it support all those games you're gonna want to play? I have a friend with one, he's very happy with it so far, best wishes for a great weekend.

Regards, JB

Hi Leeza,
New to this thread. I wanted to add a bit of info here as this Co. has already been popping on the MF and CM firms. Some mentioned below are the top players as of Sep. 30. Given the recent run up its prudent to believe that they are adding to their portfolio at different levels. Also this stock may well rise a lot as a good number of firms who invest in the intermediatory time frame tend to invest in stocks crossing their 52 wk MA.

1 Dresdner RCM Global Investors 1,098,400
2 Chartwell Investment Partners 851,520
3 Fidelity Management & Research Co. 761,000
4 Nicholas-Applegate Capital Mgmt. 640,400
5 Northwestern Mutual Life Ins. Co. 555,800
6 Alliance Capital Management L.P. 532,200
7 Pilgrim Baxter & Associates Ltd. 484,300
8 AIM Capital Management Inc. 406,200
9 Global Strategic Management, Inc. 391,500
10 Dimensional Fund Advisors, Inc. 388,900

In all total stock owned currently by Fin. Institutions big and small is well over 75%. Its a supply and demand theory and one can get a good idea what is going to happen in the future. Of course keep in mind that these funds keep adjusting their portfolios. Hope this info. keeps the longs happy & for bears its not too good short term etc and they will have to wait. I see an increase in short interest and that will give us a good rally sometime soon.

Regards,

Sri
