Zeev has shown exceptional intelligence about the contents of the Talmud. Zeev is a normal human being and the natural human tendency to defend what we instinctively feel is our culture, overcame him a few times. But more often than not, he has forthrightly and bravely faced the materials that are in the Talmud and tried to explain them and sometimes justify them to the best of his abilities. He did not cower behind some Judaeo--Christian politically correct wall or arrogantly avoid the subject altogether. He was brave, mostly forthright, at times badly mistaken, but always engaging and showed a certain love respect for truth. Zeev clearly identified himself as being a former Jew who had studied some of the Talmud that and was now an agnostic with no real religious affilition . He has ridiculed the irrational and mythical parts of the Talmud more than he has attempted to justify other parts. Because of his exception honesty, I sicerely believe that Zeev is on a journey of truth that will eventually lead him to the reality that Jesus Christ is indeed the promised Messiah promised in the prophets. Does your opinion of Zeev mean that you have judged him as being one of thes racial degenerates that sneaked into ancient Israel but was not really a Jew the whole time and now his true racial colors are showing? Sound as you consider him a member of the "Synagogue of Satan" just because of his race? These abominable writings in the Talmud against our Lord Jesus Christ, and His followers do not originate in the heart of our brother Judah, ...but... in the hearts of those who have mingled in with our borther Judah, and call themselves Jews but are not and do lie! You surely kept it a secret from the denizens of SI! I can rember Steve C. praises the Talmud as an historical book next to the Scriptures in inspiration and you going along with it. Does that mean that you knew about it then but were actually supporting it because you didn't really know about its true contents? I think that is the answer. It looks pretty bad, if you did know at the time, but refused to warn Steve. And the authors, you say, are also not Jews? Is this another of the secrets you are holding close to your chest? Were the members of the Council of Jamnia also not Jews?? No fair going research before you answer? Is it also a lie that "Jesus came unto His own, but His own received Him not"? Were these Jews also not Jews? I think you prefer to scream hate at the things you do not understand.

Dr. Israel Shahak, a Holocaust survivor and professor of organic chemistry at Hebrew University exposed hatred in the Talmud. (You accuse me of taken Dr. Shahak's words out of context. What a lying hypocrit you are. It is you that has tried to change the clear meaning of his words. He does not limited the authors of the Talmud to some mysterious mythical entity as you have done, but clearly puts it on the shoulders of the rabbis. Everyone hones soul can read his words and see how you have tried to reinterpret them. You are a great con artist Shalom and even had me fooled until I reread the piece.) Rabbinic nullification of the gospel was quickly institutionalized. Jewish religious authorities reacted swiftly to "the Jesus affair", and began to teach about Christ in way designed to harden the Jewish people against Christianity. The rabbis circulated demeaning tales about Jesus Himself, and described Christians as creatures so low on the scale of existence that no Jew would ever think of becoming one. Their anti-Christian teaching were eventually written down in the Jewush scripture known as the Talmud--the sprawling compendium of rules, interpretations of rules, and general commentary on life that has guided the belief and behavior of religious Jews for thousands of years. Dr. Israel Shahak is a Holocaust survivor (Belsen camp, an emeritus professor of organic chemistry at Hebrew University, a resident of Israel since 1945, and a longtime human rights activist. A seasoned student of Jewish scripture and tradition, Shahak candidly discusses the roots of the Judeo-Christian conflict from the Judaic side. Shahak believes that the state of Israel's prevailing ethnic and religious discrimination is a threat to its own moral legitimacy, and ultimately to its very existence. Dr. Shahak concludes from his studies that.......Judaism is imbued with a very deep hatred toward Christianity, combined with an ignorance about it. This attitude was clearly aggravated by the Christian persecutions of Jews, but is largely independent of them. In fact, it dates from the time when Christianity was still weak and was persecuted (not least by the Jews), and it was shared by Jews who had never been persecuted by Christians, or who were even helped by them. Shahak has studied the Talmud critically, and regards it as a defining document of the Judeao-Christian conflict. He finds within the Talmud two major strands of bigotry against Christians and Christianity. The first strand consists of "hatred and malicious slanders against Jesus" Himself;The second indicts Christianity as a form of idolatry and accuses Christians of being idolators. To say the Talmud reviles and despises Jesus would be an understatement. It depicts Jesus as a bastard, a black magician, and a blasphemer. The Talmudic judgment on Jesus can be summed up in a litany of scandalous accusations: He was the illegitimate son of a Jewish whore (Mary)by a Roman soldier named Pandira. Jesus learned sorcery and black magic, and by their means deceived many. He falsely claimed to be the Messiah promised by God, and thereby led his followers to spiritual destruction. "According to the Talmud, Jesus was executed by a proper rabbinical court for idolatry, inciting other Jews to idolatry and contempt of rabbinical authority. shalom, I do not know where you get the idea that the writers of the Talmud were not Jews, it is a ridiculous assertion. Instead of researching the few citations in the Talmud were there might be doubt cast on the origins of Jesus, you should look at the totality of the Talmud, not the less then .001%, off handedly, trying to elucidate the origins of Jesus, Mary's virtues and Christianity. The Talmud has a grand total of 35 (about 700 words total) citations which, for Christians, can be considered "Blasphemous" against Jesus, Mary and to Christianity, this out of a totality of close to 2.5 million words. A noted Scholar of the Talmud who converted to Catholicism due to, shall we say, "political differences" with his Jewish brothers, assembled these in 1240, in Paris (Nicholas Donin) as the base of a trial against the Talmud resulting in the burning of 24 cartloads of talmudic writings in 1242. Mind you, the same Donin was also responsible, apparently, for the reignition of the "blood libel" against Jewry. Interestingly, this convert was later (1287) indicted by the Franciscans for not being "Christian enough". Who that laugh last ...". The Talmud discuss in much greater details the prohibition of consuming blood (from permitted animals) then Jesus, Mary and Christianity combined. Every time you eat a "rare steak", you violate this basic tenet of the Bible and actually participate in a pagan ritual. Think about that for a minute, before you criticize the Talmud and its hundreds of Jewish contributors. Zeev
