Toy, I am a fellow Canadian (Toronto). I believe what happened to Corel (Wordperfect Suites) is going to happen to the likes of Oracle - IBM a year or so later. There is too much momentum behind MSFT's products that it is not stoppable but can be slowed down (DOJ).
Oracle stock may trend downward starting next earnings release or earlier if they preannounce.
I wish MSFT was not so powerful but since it is - I will buy their stock and call options and I have.
I do agree it is unhealthy for hi tech industry MSFT to be so powerful but I am an investor.
