Oh Steinbeck...........love him. I suggest you read his Biography. Will tell you much about how he came to write Grapes Of Wrath. He was a very caring person but not at all appreciated by Monterey area. They are just beginning to defrost.

Did you ever read Vonnegut's play Happy Birthday, Wanda June? Obscure, but great stuff... I remember reading it aloud with a small group of somewhat theatrical friends, and laughing hard enough to do damage. Alcohol was involved, as was that stuff that Christine says ruins your brain.
