<<. Makes me wonder if a career change is in order?>>

Don't even think about it. When the bubble bursts on EBAY the whole sector will deflate. I spent some time on the site yesterday and it is interesting but thee are some problems and some competition. Who is going to the trouble of getting a cashiers check to buy gifts. DO you trust someone you have never met with significant payments and then wait for the goods. What if there is a problem. Also I saw some stange items being sold. Like an UZI mchine gun pre-automatic ban. Had 14 bidders already. Who is checking to see who the bidders are. Yes they disclaim liability. Just wait until some poor cop gets gunned down with a machine gun purchaced on EBAY. Or maybe some home brew vitamins that kill someone. IT will happen.
The problem is how to play EBAY. There are no options traded so you have to try and find the stock to borrow, which is close to impossible. Even if you are able to borrow the shares chances are you wll be forced to cover on short squeeze if you are holding for a few days. I am going to take a look at the S1 and see when the Lockup (affiliate restrictions) end. It should be 180 days from the IPO. That is the time to short. More shares will be available and insiders will be dumping. Even if this was the greatest play in history insiders will sell some shares.
