Limtex..
<<We should take very very seriously next time a 'friend' doesn't support the US in and critical international arena.>>

If our 'friends' the Germans and French would cease selling Saddam
the components for nuclear and biological weapons we would not be forced to send our troops over there to force him to comply with UN mandates. I further suggest that each time Saddam tweaks Willie's willie, at great cost to the American taxpayer, that he be forced to pump a sufficient amount of oil to pay for the venture before any further oil revenues are received by the Iraqi government for civilan relief, since most of these revenues go to rebuild his armed forces anyway. I also suggest those 'friends' who(m) further support Saddam, and others, receive no more bananas from our friends in South America.

As usual

Ken

OT about the European dominance of the world
>In reality this EU stuff is all about the French getting a big
>army again with big guns and a big economy to feed it and then
>no doubt swagering about with it to their financial gain.
>An integral part of that are the French anti-satellite and
>anit-missile systems.

Limtex, the Europeans are about 25% as militaristic as the Americans. European aircraft carriers sailing in Asia "to protect vital European interests" - will not happen.

Also we are a sissy, disunited, rowdy and impotent bunch when it comes to getting act together on foreign issues (but we still have 98% of the French maids in the world so we are doing OK). A good example of this was that the Americans had to take initiative on former Yugoslavian issues.

Another point to remember is that the French are only a small part of Europe - there are twice as many German speakers than French speakers in the EU, for example. And then there are like a dozen other nationalities. On top of this try to imagine how difficult it would be to get the Italians to agree between themselves on some decisive action of some sort. Then you start to get the picture of the prospects of the European world dominance.
