S.C.,

The various PCs suffer from differing Y2k anomalies. Contact the manufacturer or check their web-site for guidance and/or diagnostic support. The PC operating system may also have Y2k issues, as well the apps running on it.

Hope this helps.

S.C.,

Here's a link to get you started:

mitre.org

Also check out this site for more hardware/software:

gatech.edu

If your PC is not on any list, you might try the "Free Y2k Software Links" at the bottom of the page. However, these self-diagnostics are not without risk.

On this page there are instructions for doing some tests yourself.

S.C. -

Can someone recommend a thorough y2k tester for my computer

What sort of computer (hardware) are you needing to probe?

Your question is a tad on the open-ended side. There is no simple, single test for any machine, large or small. Much of the worry over PCs (erroneously) focuses on the BIOS/RTC clock. You also have to consider the data files and applications that you use and how you use them.
