COOL is trying to capture market share and internet awareness and repeat customers.

Free shipping is a cheap ploy in order to get new people in and once a customer uses a site once to buy things... he tends to keep using the same site.

These large mail order companies get huge discounts in shipping from Fed Ex, UPS, etc due to their volume.

In fact, a lot of places make huge revs just from shipping alone.

No think about it.... if you purchased your computer via mail order or internet... they usually charge like $80 for shipping.

The good news is, no sales tax, the bad news, huge shipping charge.

If you were looking to buy a new computer, would you buy one if you could avoid both sales tax and shipping?

I sure would.

BTW, if you are worried about cutting into profits, I believe this free shipping is only through the end of November- the busiest weekend for shopping.
