Block volume increased in the third quarter. Nasdaq Trader defines a block as 10,000 or more shares:

This same block volume actually decreased from September to October:

Again, on the other side, buying of anything short of 5k shares isn't going to be institutions... and a broker getting a client out of 3k shares isn't considered institutional either. I'm not rebutting you just to say "you're wrong". I just don't think it serves much of a purpose to make it sound as though the sky is falling (institutional selling) when it's just a little rain (individuals taking tax losses and not really caring what price they get). Oh, and REAL institutions don't dump stock on non-news days without caring what price they get. Good ones fight for every 16th they can get.

Hey Bruce...

We've tried to rationalize the behavior of this stock before. From studying the secondaries to multiple oscillator TA's. Even the barstool method. (I'll look that one up and repost it if anyone wants)

It usually does not make sense, and a lot of the 'old timers' in MRVC are mystified by the behavior patterns of this stock's price. I don't know if anyone figured it out, in the last 4 months or not, but I used to anguish over it.

It seemed to me that mysterious outside forces were controlling the price. (That's why we have opened the V-Files) For a while, a good day for the DOW meant bad news for MRVC. The DOW getting knocked up pretty bad meant a great day for MRVC.

So, I'm with you - in seeing a change in the last 3 weeks. I hope this change signals the floor.
