Chuzz, yes indeed I believe that some of the internet stocks offer some real opportunities for long term appreciation. But I dont take credit for picking those with the most potential - my broker did that, and thus far those are aol and yhoo. Internet frenzy or no, these two are quality issues in the space. Of course buying them now as a long term investment is risky I agree - I would probably look to trade and make my long term buys after Jan. It is the second tier players such as onsl and bamm that are stratosperically priced and I agree there really isnt much long term potential with those. But its interesting to me that people seem to think this is some kind of unique phenomenon. Doesnt anybody remember presstek? When was that one hot - 1996 I think? At that time, a number of second tier smallcaps were really on fire, iomega etc. and most of them didnt pan out as long term investments, but theres nothing wrong with playing these issues short term right?
