>>If you only want to power down monitor under NT (not
the full APM support), it can be easily done on PCs
made after Dec. 96. The BIOS has a function to power
down monitor by sending VESA commands to video
card. All video cards made after late '95 (from major
vendors) implement DPMS in the video BIOS.
Well, that never worked for me. Guess my luck doesn't hold
with power downs <g>.

That was the first thing I tried but never any luck either.

Will have to try the shareware program mentioned.

BTW: We do have a habit on this thread of beating things to death :)

Disable anything (all interrupts, IRQ3, IRQ4, etc.
I mean ALL) that can wake up your PC. Set the timer
to 1 min. Now boot your NT. Wait one min. See if
your monitor will power down.

If Windows 98 can power down your monitor, there is
no reason your motherboard cannot do this. It's just
a simple VESA command sent to the video card.

If you still cannot power down the monitor, post all
parameters on the Power Management page here. I'll
take a look. BTW, are you using AMI or Award BIOS?
