Tech2000,

1. New hires get their options when they start (or shortly after)
2. Regular employees get their options in July
3. Microsoft will not split nor announce a split in January (IMHO). Microsofts general rule is: The stock must be above 110 for AT LEAST 9 months before they consider a split. That would put the split, if any, in July. Seeing as how they would want to be nice to their employees, this would imply a split in August (IMHO).

It all depends on how Microsoft will issue the options to its employee. 500 shares
equals to 1000 shares after split , and the 1000 shares after split will be different than the 1000 shares before split .
